Matthew chapter 2 is filled with people who all knew something about the birth of the King. The wise men saw His star. Herod heard the reports. The chief priests and scribes knew the prophecies. Yet they all responded differently. The wise men traveled hundreds of miles to worship Him. The chief priests and scribes quoted Scripture but never bothered to make the six-mile trip from Jerusalem to Bethlehem. Herod was threatened and sought to eliminate Him altogether. The difference was not the amount of information they possessed. The difference was the condition of their hearts.
So our question today is: If we say of Jesus “That’s My King?” then how will we pursue Him?
